Title III/English Learners (EL)

EL Referral Steps

EL Identification for Title III Services: Teacher must fill out Language Observation Check List (below) and go to Forms on PowerTeacher to fill out the Student Request for Intervention (MTSS) form. Once the Language Observation Checklist is sent  to EL Coordinator, referred student will be assessed using the WAPT screener. Once identified, the teacher and EL Coordinator will create a plan at the student's English Language Proficiency (ELP) level to provide access to content  instruction. The ELs with the greatest need will receive pullout services. All other ELs will receive in-class scaffolded instructional supports (IE: sheltered instruction) to contextualize content curriculum delivered by  the classroom teacher.
