Welcome Message from the Board of Trustees
Your Bozeman School District #7 Board of
Trustees and Leadership Team have worked together to develop the
framework for a Long Range Strategic Planning (LRSP) process. This
process began with input and dialogue from the Bozeman Schools Education
team and community. The LRSP is intended to build a stronger and more
vital School District that is widely recognized as delivering
outstanding education to our students.
We invite you to review the work of our LRSP at BSD7 Long Range Strategic Plan, as well as check out our plans for the 2017-18 school year found at LRSP Implementation Framework.
We are committed to using this plan to provide a world-class education
for our students assuring a bright future for our children, community
and world.
The Bozeman Public Schools Board of Trustees consists of eight
members, seven of which are elected by the voters of Bozeman Elementary District No. 7. One
trustee-at-large is elected by the voters of the rural elementary
districts to serve with the seven elementary members as the Bozeman High
School District No. 7 Board. Each member serves a three-year term
without compensation.
The Board of Trustees serves as the agent of
the State of Montana, assigned by law, to provide the educational
services and facilities for the Bozeman School District. Their purpose
is to provide a program of quality education
for this community. As such, this Board represents the community in
establishing a sound philosophy (as established by the LRSP) for all
educational programs and activities, adopting policies for operation of
the school program, providing leadership for educational progress,
installing adequate methods of evaluation of existing programs, and
developing sound financial plans consistent with school needs and
community resources.
The Board formulates policy for the
realization of the above role and employs professional educators for the
administration of the program. The Board hires a Superintendent of
Schools to execute its policies.
The public is most welcome to attend Board
meetings usually held on the second Monday of each month. Unless
otherwise designated, these meetings begin at 5:45p.m. in the Board
Room of the Willson School at 404 West Main Street. Special meetings are
called as needed by the Board Chair. For information on specific Board
meetings please use this web page for agendas and Board packets.
We hope you enjoy your review of our website and the information provided.
Sincerely,
Greg Neil
Chair, Board of Trustees
